북미에서는 전자오락실이 따로 있는 경우는 흔치 않고 주로 mall안에 있거나 bowling allies, sports complex, amusement park, airport 등에 있다.
‘당구'는 billiards라고 말하지만 ‘당구장'은 pool room, ‘당구 치러간다'는 것은 shoot a pool 또는 play pool이라고 한다.
