antiseptic n. 소독약
I put antiseptic on the cut. (나는 상처에 소독약을 발랐다.)
antiseptic은 cotton ball(동그란 솜뭉치)이나 Q-tip(면봉)에 묻혀서 cut(상처) 부위에 바르면 된다. 그밖에 약품과 관련하여 antibiotic(항생제)과 antidote(해독제)도 알아두자.
> I took antibiotics for the ear infection.
(나는 중이염 때문에 항생제를 먹었다.)
> The doctor gave him an antidote for the poison he accidentally had eaten.(의사는 그에게 사고로 먹은 독약에 대한 해독제를 주었다.)
